Life @ high altitude. Living at the foot of the giant Himalayas and at the banks of Glacier river which is considered to be the most holiest of all, is something special I guess.

This is one of many beautiful valleys in the Alps region as we drive from Venice to Austria (Innsbruck)
The shots were murky, as they are thru glass window of the coach, and not very sharp 'coz of the moving vehicle. Still I was clicking randomly, whenever the coach slowed down. Thanks to Photomatrix pro which helped me to restore the scene decently.

So near yet so far...

Well the picture says it all. The cattle population was more than that of the humans, at that elevation..and they were all quite huge with those solid well chiseled horns!!!.. The locals just passed them as if they never existed. But we were a bit skeptical and took some cautious steps, for which they gave us an amused look that read, 'Now what?"
They were the king of the road, and chose strategic positions in the middle of the hanging bridge. We have to physically brush against those horns and walk, which required lot of courage!!!

This is an interesting shot. As we climbed up the hundred odd steps after a dip in the Devprayag (it was some 50 steps down) huffing and puffing, this calf was climbing down from top. Honestly couldnt get how it reached up there...The way it was maneuvering the movement with four legs was quite a sight. It first put the front pair on the lower step and made a right about turn moving the hind pair to the next step,..again repeat the process..thus it climbed down at a remarkable pace..

I took this shot from the balcony of the room where we stayed at Badrinath. It was drizzling and quite cold, and I literally froze my fingers standing out there aiming for a good angle.I am quite happy with this night shot. The camera has performed very well at the given condition and with so many physical limitations.
